The
Hawthorns is a lovely Victorian
house situated in a tranquil spot, less than a hundred yards from
The River Spey, one of Scotland's best Salmon rivers.
Backed
by acres of ancient Pine forest, yet less than a mile from the
centre of Grantown, The Hawthorns offers the best possible location
for fishers, bird watchers, golfers, skiers, walkers etc.
The
house is contained within an attractive enclosed garden, a Mecca
for red squirrels and a myriad of birdlife.
In
the house we offer a variety of double or twin en-suite rooms,
all individually and stylishly refurbished, with an interesting
eclectic mix of Art Deco furniture and artefacts. Most rooms offer
superb views. Full central heating and tea/coffee making facilities
are an essential part of all rooms.
Guests
have exclusive use of a comfortable lounge with open fire and
a warm inviting dining room where we regularly serve the best
of local game, meat, fish and our home grown vegetables.
Looking
for a venue for a special gathering of family or friends? We welcome
private house parties and would be pleased to tailor menus for
your special occasion! We would be happy to provide in house lunches
or grand picnics, whatever is required. We are unlicensed but
guests are most welcome to provide their own refreshments at no
surcharge.
All
this adds up to The Hawthorns being the ideal choice for your
visit to this unique and beautiful part of Scotland.
