Grantown-on-Spey is one of Scotland's foremost eighteenth century Planned Towns. It is the capital of Strathspey, through which the River Spey runs amidst some of Scotland's most beautiful countryside.

The town's history as an attractive holiday resort can be traced back to Queen Victoria's visit in 1860.

Visitors today continue to enjoy the beauty of the pine forests, the river and surrounding mountains as well as the friendly service with which they are greeted in the local shops, offering a fine selection of goods for all tastes.

Bowls, tennis, shooting, fishing and golf can be enjoyed in and around the town and a wide range of accommodation and hospitality is available, ensuring a memorable holiday experience for all visitors to Grantown-on-Spey.
